A strategy document landed with a line in it that reads like a typo: in Southwest Florida, the slow season for an excavation contractor is also the best season to dig. Everywhere else winter is slow because the ground is frozen. Here, October through May is when the ground is firmest and the weather stops least.
The phone still gets quieter in October. But what goes quiet is the emergency drainage work, not the planned work — and the planned work is the higher-value half. Treating that as a demand collapse and discounting into it would be exactly the wrong move.
Say it where a machine will read it
If a meaningful share of your customers now ask an assistant before they ask you, then the assistant's wrong answer is your problem. The fix is to publish the correct fact in a form a model can lift cleanly: stated plainly, scoped to a region, unhedged.
