How much is your website costing you?

Answer 3 quick questions. We'll calculate the exact revenue you're leaving on the table every month with your current site — based on real industry benchmarks for contractors, home-service pros, and local trades.

What this calculator actually measures

Most websites for contractors and home-service businesses convert at 1–3%. That means for every 100 visitors, only one or two pick up the phone. The other 97–99 leave — and most of them never come back.

This calculator estimates the dollars that gap costs you every month. It takes three inputs — your industry, your average deal size, and rough monthly traffic — and projects what a properly built site (one designed to convert) could pull in instead.

The output is conservative on purpose. We use industry benchmarks from CXL, HubSpot, and Nielsen Norman Group rather than agency-favorite case-study numbers. If anything, real results tend to beat the projection.

How the math works

No black box. Here's exactly what's running under the hood.

Your current revenue

Monthly visitors × current conversion rate × average deal value. If you don't know your conversion rate, we use 2.5% as the industry default — that's the median for unoptimized contractor sites per HubSpot 2024 data.

Your projected revenue

We project the higher of three numbers:

  • An 85% relative lift from your current conversion rate (the conservative floor)
  • The post-redesign benchmark for your specific industry (e.g. roofing 6.8%, HVAC 6.0%, remodeling 5.5%)
  • Your current rate plus 2 percentage points (the absolute minimum a professionally built site should deliver)

We cap projections at 3× your current rate or 12% absolute — whichever is lower — so the math stays honest. If your current site converts at 4%, we won't project 12%. That's not realistic for cold traffic in most local-service verticals.

Where the benchmarks come from

Industry conversion rates are aggregated from CXL Institute research, HubSpot's 2024 Conversion Benchmarks report, Unbounce's Conversion Benchmark Study, and Nielsen Norman Group usability studies. We update them annually.

What this isn't

This is a directional estimate, not a guarantee. Real-world results depend on three things this calculator can't see: traffic quality (paid clicks vs organic vs referral), offer strength (your pricing, packaging, and proof), and market competition. We're happy to dig into those on a free 30-min audit call.

FAQ

Common questions about the ROI calculator

Are these projections realistic, or are you just selling me?

They're conservative. We use industry benchmarks from CXL, HubSpot, and Nielsen Norman Group — not agency case-study numbers cherry-picked to look impressive. Most contractor sites we rebuild beat the projection in 3–6 months. The calculator just shows you the minimum you'd realistically capture, not the upside.

I don't know my conversion rate. Can I still use this?

Yes — select "Not sure" on the conversion rate question and we'll use the industry default for your vertical (around 2–3% for most contractors). You can refine the estimate later by checking Google Analytics or asking your marketing person for the number.

What does my email get me, and will I get spammed?

You unlock the full breakdown on the page — monthly revenue gap, projected lift, chart, and methodology notes. No spam, no daily emails. We may follow up once or twice to see if you want to talk through the numbers. Unsubscribe anytime in one click.

How long does it take to actually capture this revenue?

Most contractor sites we rebuild start showing measurable conversion lift within 60–90 days of launch — that's when the new site has enough traffic data to compare against the old one. Full ROI capture (the 6-12 month numbers the calculator shows) usually lands in months 4-9 as SEO compounds and the conversion rate stabilizes.

What if my website isn't the problem — what if my ads or my offer are weak?

Honest answer: if traffic is the bottleneck (not enough visitors at all), a redesign alone won't solve it — we'd need to pair it with paid ads or SEO. If your offer is the issue (price too high, packaging unclear, no proof), the redesign helps but copy and pricing strategy matter more. The free 30-min audit call diagnoses which lever to pull. Sometimes the right answer is "don't rebuild yet."
